My amigo used to live in Saltillo. He said the action there was lousy. He used to come up to Monterrey because the options in Saltillo were very limited, and the selection was really poor. He also said that carousing around Saltillo, which has a very limited scene, caused him some potential for undue embarrassment were his co-workers and / or neighbors to see him. I think he would have risked the exposure if the selection was good. But, apparently he felt it didn't justify the risk, and he always came up to Monterrey instead. You will probably be finding yourself in the same dilemma. Monterrey has it's own range of problems, but at least you can still find some clubs, escorts, and massage parlors where the selection is good. You're only about an hour away.

Thanks for the info Amigo. I thought as much from my limited forays and inquiries. I'll give the zona de tolerancia a try just for educational value. Monterrey will probably be my place out of necessity. Saltillo certainly is a dead city. It was once called "the Athens of Mexico." Now it's referred to as the "Detroit of Mexico." Yes. One or 2 are scams. Anyone that charges via web ahead of a date IS a scam.

Some of them are girlfriend haters that are out to get the "sweet" part of revenge by placing their former GFs on the web. You have no idea of what it does to a girl in small town Mexico.
