The best places to be are as follows:

This is the only thing I am a DIYer. Sierra Leone and Guinea offers credit to be electronically loaded instead of using scratch cards. Neways why buy cards when you can just stop for a minute and get the credit loaded on to your phone. Even Sierratel and Sotelgui hass electronic uploads.

I checked the balance in front of her and found that it was missing about $20. As I had not paid yet, I told her to either take the credit off or get with the program. She eventually got with the program and I walked away with the right mount of credit.

Drove to Conakry from Freetown on Monday. It being a public holiday in Freetown there was no traffic.

Reached Conakry smoothly.
