Hi guys,

I will be in Bali next week for the first time. I would appreciate if you could answer a few questions, if you don't mind. What is the going rate over there? Do they take dollars or only local currency?

I will be staying at Jl. Pantai Berawa, Canggu, North Kuta, Bali, Indonesia. Any tips on good bars / places would be appreciated.

Take your dollars and change them there. The daily rate will change but be careful of the money changers in the back if shops with great rates because you will find that they will only have small notes and they will rip you off.

I don't know much about Canggu except it is some distance from Kuta, Seminyak and Legian where all the clubs and bars are. If you are after nightlife and easy pick ups I wouldn't stay too far away unless you will have your transport it will be expensive and time consuming for taxis but on the otherhand if you have contacts over there and like to have private party's Canggu will be ideal.

It is advisable to change your $ into IDR. The going rate will depend on the girl and services she offers. It may start from 200 K to 1.5 million IDR. I will be there soon.

Would be good to get info on realities on the ground, especially from residents (I'm not) and keep track of the good ol' boys. Many of whom I've met (not you and Smoothy though, at least not with full knowledge) I'm still in touch with one very esteemed very active past member who I can assure you is very active and done veryyyy well for himself out of Indonesia which he regularly visits to this day!

Anyway, this doesn't belong in the Bali forum, I haven't been there in more than two years outside of the airport, and that was only due to the connection options to other places (see my last posting).

Additional generalisations: Bali is hot, sweaty, lacking infrastructure, great if you want to wear beach wear to do anything (hence full of Aussies), and also full of girls who are half way on their journey from Jakarta - Bali - Western Country. And also starting the exponential climb in costs to get to know them. Better to know them in Jakarta. Or the subset Bandung, leading to Bandung - Jakarta - Bali - The West.
If beach and constant sweating isn't mandatory, head to the other places I mentioned, it will be cheaper.

And what else is there to do besides monger in those other places you mention? Volcanoes, picturesque scenery, Hindu temples, coffee plantations, diving opportunities, quiet side roads where you can leisurely peddle a bicycle?

I can appreciate a good infrastructure, but if I wanted to be impressed by infrastructure I could have just spend my entire trip in Kuala Lumpur.

I believe the Rev did very well for himself and moved on to the finer things in life, that's why he let the forum lapse, and yes, people like you and I, and Smoothy and Menteng, the old veterans of the Blok site, do over-rely on this place to discuss our favourite topic, forgetting that most posters here don't care what boring old codgers who had their prime 10,15 or 20 years ago think about things, they just want to know, "how much? "how long? "is it covered? ".

Unless you want to party with the ones mentioned above at great expense to the management, best to head to Sanur where you can have a relaxing holiday and find girls at hand (physically and on your phone). The ones available physically are also trying the pathways above, they just haven't upgraded the English to clear the last hurdle with some unsuspecting lucky guy.

I am not sure what is your race or nationality, but you seem fixated on Western women. In Bali and around the region, Western women can be had; good looking, young, and in shape. The same with other travelling women of other nationalities.

If you are looking, the main challenge is when a woman has a traveling companion. It is best to have a wing man. If you don't, it is harder to get them to abandon the companion. The neglected one will ***** up a storm.

If you find a single traveller, the chase is easier. They are freer to be impulsive. It is with these women on business or extended vacation (as a backpacker) that I have had the most luck. On top of that, they are usually under 30 and under served. They want a relaxing, enjoyable holiday with good memories. Many times, you can even go dutch with them but I prefer to pay. It also helps with the game. I sometimes meet them on extended budget tours and then bring them to my more luxurios digs whereby they can save some money on room and board.

They are fun but my eyes keep wondering at the "nut brown" butts walking by who are cheaper to impress and less risky. But sometimes, these opportunities just fall in your lap, literally.

I don't go after the older Western women though some do chat with me. Their lap dog Bali Cowboys bristle, which makes them happy.

Allow me to say that the latest discussion regarding western women in Bali was useful to me. For a long time I couldn't understand why dating these women was never an objective for many people in this forum. They're all over Bali, but for what objective? Is it only the sun? Is it the Bali cowboys? Is it both? Or would they be open to dating like Indonesian ladies are?

Then came the answer (altho its subjective) that these women are often unattractive, have poor hygiene and egocentric in some situations. Only experienced mongers would fill you up with such answers. So the discussion was eye opening for me. Yet still, I would want to give it a try with a western woman, hopefully she would prove these 'misjudgements' false. But I feel the sense of unhealthy ego in these women from a distance and I surely don't have high expectations.

Dude, there is nothing wrong with the gym girls. There are some gym chicks there in Bali who I would love to spend a week with (or even a day). I think many of us know who these 2 girls are. Unfortunately, I have never been with either.

One of my earlier contacts, Novi tinggi from Maribaya, is now a Zumba instructor in Bali. Trying to hook up again for a short while.

Great. So, can we talk about something relative to mongering in Bali, like brothels outside the usual tourists zones? I made a post about that, but apparently finding new ports to monger in, wasn't of interest to many here. I already have plenty of reasons to avoid Kuta besides wide, white asses.

OK, OK, So, it got a bit sidetracked. But if you were to look at the track record of the protagonists,(excluding myself), they are solid contributors across a wide spectrum of subjects pertaining to our craft in Indonesia. The reality is that the nuances of mongering are very varied and sometimes if you live and breathe mongering in a particular location the bread and butter details of how you went to location ABC and met Novi or Fitri and how she gave you a BBBJ and then jerked you off with a HJ and how you paid this much and how she gave you a complimentary enema. It gets a little regular.

And so we can drift a little in our focus.

Unfortunately when the Kuta sidewalk's are blocked with arses the size of the ones we have been talking about here, they can become the subject of your ire.

The wide sweeping generalities here are funny as hell.

I've lived in US, Europe, Asia. Yes, there are a lot of fat white women in the US. But there sure are a lot of fat as fuck Indos, Malay, Indians and now some Chinese. If you go to major cities with Universities like San Francisco, NY, Miami, Austin, Chicago. Holy hell the caliber of women is at least as good as your beloved Jakarta or Bali or whatever. That's from a brown beauty lover. Which isn't putting down Indonesians -- I've dated Indonesians and love them. Just that this east v west convo is a bit ridiculous, not based in fact, and frankly boring.

If you love whoring in Bali, talk about how great it is, why it's great and how we can appreciate the greatness. The rest is rubbish.
